The Lucky Dog Picturehouse regularly runs workshops and performances especially for children around the UK. These family-friendly shows are an ideal introduction to silent comedy and involve a lot of audience participation such as creating sound effects, learning magic tricks and discovering the art of slapstick!

Music Accompaniment for Silent Film
Get our workshop for your college or university to create and play a music score for a silent movie.
Learn the secrets of traditional silent-film accompaniment in this hands-on workshop, which includes an overview of the history of period film music and an exploration of key historical influences and techniques. Find out how to replicate the sound effects used in early cinema and sync up your own live performance to film – you’ll soon discover that ‘silent’ film was anything but!
